Frequently Asked Questions:

Many of the questions are listed below.  When you book a trip, you will fill out a pre-trip questionnaire.  There will be a section on the questionnaire for any additional questions you may have.  We strive to personalize your experience and make it a memorable time on the water.

What should I bring?

Moisture wicking clothes (layers recommended), hat, sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, water bottle, snacks, waders, boots,

What time do I meet my guide?

Our guide will let you know what time to meet the day before the trip.  For the half day morning session, typically we start between 7 and 9 AM.  For the afternoon session, we normally start 4 hours before sunset.

How long is the trip?

Most half day trips will last 3-4 hours.  This depends on the river conditions and daylight.

Where will I meet my guide?

Your guide will let you know a location to meet the day before the trip.  We will select the fishery with the optimal conditions for safety and success.  

Will the guide bring terminal tackle?

Your guide will bring provide tippet, indicators, and hand made flies specifically designed for the local insect activity and the trout's appetite.

Can I bring home any fish I catch?

We practice safe catch and release techniques to preserve the resource.  This includes an oversized nylon mesh landing net and barbless hooks.  We check the river temperatures so that we do not fish in waters too warm.  We will take "fish pics", but minimize the amount of time that our fish are out of the water.

Can I fish with my fly rod?

Your guide will bring a fly rod based upon the creek we fish and the expected conditions.  Feel free to use our fly rod or bring your own.

What if I need waders or boots?

If you need waders and or boots, indicate your need on the pre-trip questionnaire at the time of booking. We will do our best to bring your needed gear creekside at the day of the trip.

Can I fish with my fly rod?
